Comprehensive Health Checks

This is a annual comprehensive assessment of your health and well being.

Health Checks are customised  to suit a person's age , sex, past medical history and lifestyle.

People in general should have at least  one Annual Health Check not only because it can  highlight any problem areas, but it also enables us family doctors to practice preventative medicine.

The screening will include:

A comprehensive physical examination including:

  • Blood Pressure
  • Pulse reading
  • Body Mass Index (Weight/Height ratio)
  • Review of any illnesses, medication and family history
  • Review of Vaccination History
  • Vision and Hearing Tests
  • Lung Function Tests
  • ECG - to test the heart rhythm, rate and other abnormalities
  • Urine Analysis
  • Blood Screening - This will be tailored to the individual, however the basic profile will always include:
     

    • Full blood count
    • Blood Sugar levels
    • Renal function
    • Liver function
    • Cholesterol levels and Triglycerides
    • Prostate test if over 40 (Males)
    • Tumour markers for Bowel & Ovarian cancer
    • Thyroid function
     
  • Cervical Screening (Smear) annually
  • X-rays as required
  • Consultation with the doctor so you can discuss any health worries, large or small
